MERIDIANS

The meridian system is a distribution system that links different areas of the body together. Its pathways, or channels, make up a complex map that supplies vital energy to every part of the body. There are twelve major meridians, one for each organ, and two channels on the front and back midline of the body. Meridians conduct energy or ki and move blood between the surface of the body and the internal organs. Each point has a different effect on the ki that passes through it. When there is a blockage of ki energy flow, disease occurs.
